Meccanica 42’s technologies featured in VI-grade’s new Shanghai SimCenter

Meccanica 42 is pleased to announce its contribution to the newly inaugurated VI-grade SimCenter in Shanghai’s Jiading District, one of China’s most important automotive engineering hubs.

Now fully operational, the center serves as a strategic platform for accelerating simulation-driven vehicle development, offering customers and partners direct access to advanced Driver-in-the-Loop (DiL), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), and NVH technologies.

VI-grade SimCenter

Building on our long-standing partnership with VI-grade, Meccanica 42 has equipped the new facility with two of its HiL real-time systems:

  • BrakeiL – Brake-in-the-Loop rig
  • CamiL – Camera-in-the-Loop rig

These systems complement VI-grade’s simulation environment, which also features:

  • DESKTOP NVH Simulator for acoustics-driven design evaluation
  • VR/MR-enhanced HMI test environments
  • AutoHawk, a next-generation real-time HiL system based on Concurrent Real-Time technology

Together, these solutions create a robust, interconnected toolchain that supports V-cycle engineering workflows, enabling early and reliable system validation across the entire vehicle development process.

By integrating real components directly into the simulation loop, Meccanica 42’s plug & play test benches allow engineers to test critical behaviours under realistic, repeatable conditions, including edge cases and failure scenarios, at the component, system, or vehicle level, without requiring a complete vehicle.

This approach helps teams detect potential issues early, reduce late-stage fixes, minimize reliance on physical prototypes, and accelerate design decisions throughout the V-cycle.

Schedule your visit: the SimCenter is now open for demonstrations and technical sessions.
