Measurement of tire–road contact forces

Measurement of tire–road contact forces

One of our latest innovations is a device designed to directly measure the three main forces exchanged at the tire–road contact patch: longitudinal, lateral, and vertical.

This sensor has been designed with such accuracy that it can perform various types of R&D tests as well as regulatory testing such as ASTM F1805-20, which outlines the methodology for assessing single-wheel traction on low-grip surfaces.

It can be mounted on both driven and non-driven wheels and its architecture supports the measurement of both dynamic and static loads.
